Canaco de Monterrey asks authorities to support SMEs with regulatory improvement, financing and security

Monterrey, NL. The National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism of Monterrey asked the state and municipal governments to make it easier and faster to carry out procedures for small and medium-sized companies (SMEs), through a regulatory improvement, offer them financing and improve security.

“How can they help us, letting us work and this always has to do with regulatory improvement programs (for example) making an analysis by state and municipal authorities of which procedures do not work and remove them, and those that remain make a improvement process, with transparent requirements, remove the discretion of officials and end corruption “, he stated Sergio Anguiano Ayala, director of the agency.

For example, according to the Doing Business The World Bank 2020, Mexico ranks 93rd out of 190 countries in building permits, with an average duration of 80 days to obtain a building permit.

Anguiano Ayala added that the municipal authorities have been suggested to take a look at the portfolio of projects pending authorization, construction permits “and if they manage to undo that, immediately there would be important projects to generate activity and employment ”.

Regarding financing, “the federal government has not helped us in productive activity practically at all to counteract the effects of the pandemic”, and an important part is financing for entrepreneurs and for smaller companies, because any amount that put there, it can be multiplied through Nafin’s guarantee program, said the manager.

In this sense, the president of the Canaco Servytur Monterrey, Javier Arteaga Gutiérrez, emphasized that although at the federal level no fiscal or economic support has been seen, the state government has mentioned that in the 2022 Budget there is an item for 100 million pesos to guarantee a line of credit for 2,300 million of pesos, which will support SMEs and generate greater economic income.

Security

Security is another of the concerns of formal commerce, because in the month of October against September the incidence of crime increased, in crimes of intentional homicide, domestic violence, increase in business robbery, in this case it is below the figures from last year.

The director of Canaco Servytur Monterrey stressed the importance of coordination between the state government, the State Attorney General’s Office, and the municipalities, where some “disappear from the map, vehicle theft is important, we don’t like it to increase because other types of crimes can be generated, the important thing is that the progress we have had is not lost ”, he mentioned.
