Canacintra Puebla prepares trade missions to Jalisco and Yucatan

Puebla, Pue. The local National Chamber of the Transformation Industry (Canacintra) is preparing business missions to Jalisco and Yucatan for the middle of this year in search of investments or commercial agreements, informed the president of the organization, Luis Espinosa Rueda.

He explained that, as part of an industrial policy, one has to go in search of opportunities, which is why they see strategic sectors such as plastic, services, food, beverages and textiles in both entities, in order to reach agreements in the short and medium term.

In the case of Yucatan, he said, it has greater access to markets and a similar industry in plastics, while noting that they have a lot of trade with Mérida, especially in the tourism sector.

From the state of Jalisco, the businessman highlighted that it is the third most important pole in the country, so it will seek to establish businesses in the automotive sector in plastics, chemicals, metalworking and construction materials.

“One of the bets of the Private Initiative for this year is to invest in the promotion of the state with the aim of advancing the recovery and the generation of jobs,” he stressed.

Likewise, he maintained that Puebla and Aguascalientes are the only two states that have not managed to advance in the crisis in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, “so it is necessary that the Canacintra sectors do their part to contribute to improving economic indicators. ”.

He indicated that they cannot leave everything to the state government regarding the promotion of Puebla as an investment destination, since it largely corresponds to the Private Initiative to do so, especially in this year “that they must take firmer steps towards economic recovery.” .

Job creation

Regarding the generation of jobs, Espinosa Rueda considered that it is positive; however, factors such as inflation and the high dependence on the automotive sector, which has been contracted by low production due to the lack of semiconductors, have an impact.

He commented that with a national campaign and trade missions in strategic regions of the country, the industrial sector of Puebla can contribute more to economic development.
