The Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAMe) suspended Phase 1 of the atmospheric environmental contingency due to ozone in the Metropolitan Area of ​​the Valley of Mexico starting at 5:00 p.m. this Wednesday.

The agency detailed in a statement that “an anticyclonic system reduced its influence on the Valley of Mexico and has allowed the wind speed to increase progressively and greater ventilation.”

The CAMe He explained that the meteorological models indicate for Thursday, March 31, a greater intensity of the wind on the surface, which will help to disperse the contaminants in the area.

At noon on Wednesday, the Commission still estimated that the weather conditions would continue to be unfavorable.

The CAMe activated Phase 1 of environmental contingency in the Metropolitan Area of ​​the Valley of Mexico on Tuesday afternoon, so this Wednesday, March 30, restrictions on the circulation of vehicles in Mexico City and the State of Mexico were implemented.
