Bring the Teddy Bears and the Cheers: Edmonton Oil Kings Presents the 14th Teddy Bear Toss – Edmonton | The Canadian News

After a yearlong hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Edmonton Oil Kings are back for their fourteenth teddy bear release on Saturday night.

The 2021 themed shirts were unveiled this week in support of frontline workers.

Fans who bring five or more bears to the game will enter to win an Oil Kings award, depending on the team.

On Twitter, Rogers Place said it will adjust its bag policy for one game. Transparent bags will be allowed to transport several bears; however, if a fan does not bring a clear bag, some will be available within the arena.

At Tuesday’s press conference, Santas Anonymous CEO Angel Benedict said stuffed animals are very helpful to the charity.

In 2019, the Teddy Bear Toss sold out and saw the team collect a record 16,491 bears.

Tickets for Saturday’s game against the Moose Jaw Warriors are still available with puck drop at 7 p.m. All fans entering Rogers Place will be required to follow COVID-19 protocols.
