Boris Johnson, the reality of Brexit runs faster than his lies

Nationalism is emotion, but it is also war.

Boris Johnson is David Cameron and he is also Theresa May. All three spoke of nationalism to justify organizing the Brexit referendum, and all three decided to wage war through rhetoric against the European Union.

But reality has reached the British, who are seen to be isolated and with supply problems in supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s, McDonald’s or the Portuguese restaurant chain Nando’s. Reality has also caught up with Coca Cola, whose plants in London, Scotland and Wales are short of aluminum for making cans.

Where are Cameron and May to help entrepreneurs who cannot integrate farmers into their work team?

Where is Nigel Farage to listen to hotel owners who have had to close rooms because there are no maintenance staff?

Where are the politicians who voted to leave the European Union and now it is not so easy to hire plumbers, electricians and mechanical engineers to solve home problems?

But the one who takes the palms of cynicism is Boris Johnson, a character who promised to channel 350 million pounds a week to the British health system. Why is it not compliant?

Where is the prime minister reaching his shoulder to a million Britons living in the European Union who now face uncertainty?

Where are the three million Europeans who live or used to live in the UK?

Boris Johnson’s country needs between 60,000 and 76,000 truckers, who after the new immigration law took effect and they faced the pandemic in confinement, decided to leave the UK.

Who pays the cost of Brexit?

The year 2016, the year of the referendum, was a fair of nationalist rhetoric rarely lived.

“The referendum was not just a vote to leave the European Union. It starts from a deep and (…) often justified feeling that many people perceive today, and that is that the world works well for some privileged people, but not for them ”.

Is it a phrase from AMLO? No, it belongs to Theresa May during her government. It is taken up by Michel Barnier in his book The Great Illusion. Secret Diary of Brexit (2016-2020), from Akal publishing house.

May’s speech is disturbing, because it is the British who are uncomfortable finding empty shelves in stores.

Barnier was the European Union’s negotiator against the British. And it underlines that the United Kingdom is more isolated, not only from the commercial world but in geopolitical terms. Will he compete against China without the support of the 27? Barnier writes: “Or is it better to be together, in solidarity rather than alone?”

The single divorce leaves the United Kingdom out of 759 agreements of all kinds that the European Union has with 168 countries. How long is it going to take the UK to negotiate these deals? Do you have the necessary equipment for negotiations?

The Governor of the Bank of England, Andrew Bailey was one of those who thought that the tension of the supply chain or the increase in prices would be lowered, however, he has changed his mind. Now he points out: “Others will have a different opinion, but I can’t help but start to worry about this persistence in the job market.” He says this in reference to the labor shortage.

Brexit occurs in the post-truth era where the lie is desired and applauded by a large part of the populations, whether American, Mexican or British.

When will President López Obrador announce the timetable for importing the EU into Latin America?
