BMV operates with profits and profiles its third consecutive advance

The Mexican stock exchange (BMV) operates with a slight profit this Thursday. The local stock market extends its advance for the third consecutive day, while nervousness in the markets related to the Covid-19 variant Omicron falls and the volume traded for the year-end period decreases.

The benchmark index S&P/BMV IPC, made up of the shares of the 35 issuers with the highest value by capitalization and liquidity in Mexico, moves 0.34% to a level of 52,581.07 points. The index FTSE BIVA, the main of the Institutional Stock Exchange (Biva), gains 0.31% and is located at the level of 1,086.20 units.

Most of the benchmark’s components are profitable, with 23 of these in positive territory and 12 in negative territory. The best performances are from the Mexican Stock Exchange, with 2.66%; Volaris, with 1.49%; followed by Elektra, with 1.08%, and Grupo Carso, with 1.12 percent.
