BMV and Biva advance after a streak of three consecutive falls


The Mexican stock exchange (BMV) trades with moderate gains this Tuesday. The local stock market advances after a streak of three consecutive falls that led it to write down its worst closing day in almost a year.

The index reference S&P/BMV IPC, made up of the 35 most traded shares in the country, advanced 0.62% to 49,361.54 units. The index FTSE BIVAof the Institutional Stock Market (Biva), earns 0.62% to 1,023.94 points.

In three consecutive days with losses, from a level of 51,432.63 units, the leading index accumulated a drop of 4.62 percent until yesterday. With its closing yesterday, so far this year the stock market has lost 7.91 percent.

Investors are nervous about the possibility of low growth for the global economy. In Mexico, the Inegi reported a 21-year peak in inflation and Banxico is expected to raise rates on Thursday.
