Blazers in pursuit of Raptors forward OG Anunoby: report

The Raptors may not be in the lottery this year, but they’re still the talk of NBA circles one night before the NBA draft.

The Portland Trail Blazers are in pursuit of Raptors forward OG Anunoby, according to a report from Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. The Blazers are said to be using the No. 7 pick in the NBA draft as part of a potential trade, Haynes said.

Anunoby has been a major name in the NBA rumor mill as of late, after unconfirmed reports surfaced that the 24-year-old is unhappy with his role in Toronto.

“Obviously (we) have great communication with OG,” Raptors general manager Bobby Webster told reporters on Tuesday in response to the rumours. “I think he’s even up here now.”

Webster declined to comment much further on the situation.

“Obviously, it doesn’t make sense to get into all the trade speculation, right? I think if we talked about every call we got or trade that was discussed we’d be here for hours. I don’t think it’s all that noteworthy.”

After sending its first round pick to the San Antonio Spurs as part of the Goran Dragic for Thaddeus Young deal, Toronto’s only pick in the draft is at No. 33.
