A Belleville restaurant had its liquor license suspended for breach of COVID-19 regulations, according to the Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO).
The order was issued Thursday against Wild Wing in Belleville, when the provisional suspension went into effect immediately.
According to an AGCO press release, the owner of the Belleville restaurant has not requested vaccination certificates or masking from his customers in recent months.

AGCO says its officials have been conducting inspections throughout September and October, finding continued noncompliance.
During another inspection on November 9, the commission said restaurant employees were openly disobeying COVID-19 regulations under the Ontario Reopening Act (ROA).
“The manager warned that his staff does not request confirmation of vaccination or identification of clients. In addition, he cautioned that he and the staff were aware of the ROA requirements due to visits from various inspectors in recent months, but that it does not require staff to wear masks, ”AGCO said Friday.
The commission also said it has been contacting Hastings Prince Edward Public Health, which has issued “multiple charges” against the restaurant owner for violations under the ROA.
The health unit did not immediately respond to a request for comment on these charges.
Under AGCO’s suspension process, consequences could include monetary fines or, in the most serious cases, license revocation.
