The Eastern Townships Humane Society (SPA) estimates that it files two to three cases of animal cruelty in court each year.

“We have the impression that there are more and more because the public is more and more sensitive and we talk about it more and more”, explained to TVA Nouvelles the communication agent of the SPA Estrie. , Marie-Pier Quirion.

“These are heartbreaking images and they are horrific stories,” she adds.

The dog found in poor condition in Magog last Friday had to be euthanized because of his injuries.

The owner of the animal has been arrested. The one who allegedly beat the dog is wanted. This is an individual who would be between 60 and 70 years old, paunchy, with a beard of a few days and a dark mustache. He is said to be about 1.70 meters (5 ft 7 in) tall.

Both face animal cruelty charges that could result in fines and even jail time.

Any information likely to help the police find the wanted man can be sent to investigator Geneviève Allaire at 819 843-3334 ext. 227.

  1. Please give justice to poor abused animals who cannot defend themselves! I hope whomever is responsible for this does time in prison and pays a big fine and will never be allowed to ever own a pet. I can only pray justice will be done!
