Beachgoer saves 3 from possible drowning in Lake Erie, OPP in search of swimmer – London | The Canadian News

OPP is crediting a Good Samaritan for possibly saving three people from drowning as they continue to search for a missing swimmer.

Police say that shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday, emergency crews were called to Port Burwell Provincial Park for a report of a missing swimmer and three near-drowning in Lake Erie.

Two people were determined to be swimming in Lake Erie when both were distressed. Two other people entered the water to help, but they were also distressed.

A Good Samaritan saw what was happening and threw a life ring that was on the beach, which according to the police saved three people.

The fourth person remains pending and the search for the person is ongoing.
