Bark in the park for Hiatus House held

Article content

It was a special kind of ‘dog park’ that was held in Lanspeary Park on Monday, where people were encouraged to bring their pets to “Bark in the Park” to show their support for Hiatus House and that November is Women’s Abuse Prevention Month.

The goal was to remind everyone of the importance and value of pets and the role they play in curing violence. Victims of violence need the assurance that they do not have to leave their beloved pet behind.

The free event included a Border City Barkers demonstration, prizes, raffles and vendors along with pictures of the pets with Mrs. Santa Claus.

Bark in the Park is one of several events organized by Hiatus House to raise awareness on the subject.
