Attempted murder in Saint-Michel

 

An attempted murder occurred Wednesday afternoon in a “hot” section of the Saint-Michel neighborhood in Montreal, where a man in his twenties was injured in the upper body by at least one projectile.

The events took place around 3:50 p.m., at the intersection of avenue Émile-Journault and 9th avenue. Several shots were reportedly fired there.

The victim, a 22-year-old man, was taken in a conscious state to hospital to treat his injuries which were not believed to be life threatening.

A large security perimeter has been erected in the area to protect the crime scene. In the early evening, the canine squad and investigators were still on site to try to determine the causes and circumstances of the event.

Several bullet holes, casings and a firearm were notably found, while no arrests have yet been made in this case.
