At Least 36 St Joseph’s London Surgeries Postponed Due to COVID-19 Exposure – London | The Canadian News

St. Joseph’s Health Care London has confirmed to Global News that at least 36 elective procedures were postponed after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

The positive COVID-19 case affected four operating rooms at St. Joseph Hospital, according to a hospital statement.

Due to the exposure, at least 25 staff members and doctors are currently in isolation.

Due to the number of self-isolating staff, at least 36 OR elective products are postponed from Friday to Monday.

No other impacts are yet known in the operating rooms after Monday, December 13.

“We regret the inconvenience and anxiety this may cause and wish to assure our patients that their appointments will be rescheduled as soon as possible,” a hospital spokesperson said in a statement.

Hospital staff will contact patients whose procedures are postponed.

The hospital says that those who have not been notified directly of a change in their distribution should attend the procedure as scheduled.
