The diploma emphasizes both classical and contemporary issues in Catholic studies. It consists of five graduate foundational courses along with courses on social justice and ecumenical and interfaith dialogue. There is also an option for students to study a specialized topic of interest one-on-one with a faculty member.

The new diploma is part of Assumption’s academic revitalization plan. It received approval from Assumption University’s Senate and is now open for registration. In addition to completing the entire diploma, students also have the option to take select courses at their own pace. There is an auditing option available at a reduced rate.

Four regional Catholic school boards, including Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board and Conseil scolaire catholique Providence, regard the program as a hiring asset.

Early applications are encouraged as space is limited. The minimum entry requirement is an undergraduate degree in any discipline with at least a 70 per cent average. There is no application fee.
