Elements of the Oaxaca and Veracruz Prosecutor’s Offices captured Gustavo Abigail “N”, alias “El Pino”, an alleged member of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG)and implicated in the murder of journalist Julio Valdivia Rodríguez, reporter for the newspaper “El Mundo, murdered on September 10, 2020 in Veracruz.
Gustavo Abigail “N” is the son of Gustavo Díaz Sánchez “El Gato”, local deputy of the PRI for district one of Oaxaca, who was arrested on November 4, 2021 by elements of the Veracruz Civil Force, for his alleged participation in the crimes of outrage against authority, damage, drug dealing and carrying a firearm.
The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) said that Gustavo Abigail “N” was a priority objective of the prosecution tables in Veracruz, who had an arrest warrant for the crime of intentional homicide.
“In addition, he is linked to acts of extortion, huachicol, kidnappingmigrant and drug trafficking, as well as theft of cargo transport with complaints by various national business chambers and cargo transport groups, ”said the agency.
The Secretary of the Navy participated in intelligence work for his capture (Semar), the National Intelligence Center (CNI) and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) through the National Anti-kidnapping Commission (Conase), derived from several complaints from the sugarcane union of both entities.
The SSPC even admitted that he is the son of the defendant Gustavo Díaz Sánchez, whom he identified as “the main generator of violence and extortion in the area of the Isthmus in Oaxaca and Veracruz.”
At the time of the arrest of Gustavo Abigail “N” in Amozoc, Puebla, personnel from Conase Analysis participated; of the National Guard; CNI and the Veracruz State Attorney General’s Office, with logistical and perimeter support from the Puebla Security Secretariat, as well as Semar for air transportation.
