The guards were loading bags of money into a truck near a bank in Park-Ex.
Two employees of an armored truck company were pepper sprayed and shot Monday night in a Park-Extension robbery that saw two thieves steal sacks of cash.
The robbery occurred at 11 p.m. near a bank on Jean Talon St. near Querbes St. Employees were in the process of moving bags of money to the truck when the attack occurred.
The guards were pepper-sprayed and at least one shot was fired, although none of the victims were injured by gunshots.
According to witnesses, the two robbers fled on foot carrying sacks of cash. Police did not specify how much money was stolen.
The guards were treated at the scene by ambulance technicians for the effects of pepper spray.
A crime scene has been set up at the scene of the robbery and investigators are hoping to get more information from local surveillance cameras.
