The money will be used to buy a vital signs monitor and several Hi-Lo beds for both hospital campuses.

“We are so grateful for this extremely generous donation to support our patients and assist our nursing staff to deliver outstanding care to the medicine patients,” said Theresa Morris, the hospital’s vice-president of Medicine. “The Hi-Lo beds are very valuable and an essential resource in helping to keep our patients safe from falls with injuries.”

ArcelorMittal Windsor, formerly DNN Galvanizing and DJ Galvanizing, has donated more than $820,000 through its charitable donation campaign over the last 30 years.

The company and its employees have donated to several organizations including the Downtown Mission, the United Way of Windsor-Essex, the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society and Hospice of Windsor-Essex.

Last year, they donated $10,000 to help buy a centrifuge for the renal program at Windsor Regional Hospital.

“Care and concern for our community is a priority for both ArcelorMittal Windsor and our employees,” said Kristi Wright-Farmer, the company’s accounting and benefits coordinator. “We align our charitable giving mission by transforming tomorrow, formulating a positive impact towards a sustainable future for our most vulnerable. Children, mental health and our aging population are our priorities.”
