Anti-corruption sees no crime in Ayuso and closes its investigation into the Priviet Sportive contract

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office does not see influence peddling or falsehood in the performance of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayusoregarding the Priviet Sportive contract to which the Community of Madrid awarded by the emergency procedure the acquisition of masks at the very beginning of the pandemic, in April 2020, and in which his brother Tomás would have participated.

For this reason, it files the proceedings that it opened on February 22, without prejudice to the investigation carried out by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office for possible fraud with EU funds.

According to the file decree made public this Thursday, and signed by the head of Anticorruption, Alejandro Luzón, regarding the Madrid president, it can be concluded that never intervened in the procedure, “given that the Governing Council is not a contracting body in the Community of Madrid”.

In addition, as it was an emergency contract, the action of this body was limited to “the reception of the contractual information by the Ministry to which the contracting body belongs”.

Practical research, he notes, “allows rule out the existence of criminally relevant conduct in the process of acquiring masks from the company Priviet Sportive SL regarding Isabel Díaz Ayuso”. The criminal hypothesis raised by the political groups in the opposition, who were the complainants, was based, according to Anticorruption, “on a sequence of events of which initially no reasonably plausible evidence was deduced of the fact under investigation, nor of its criminal nature, nor of the president’s responsibility in it”.
