Anne Heche is in stable condition after a burning car crash at a Los Angeles home

Anne Heche is in stable condition on Sunday, two days after the car she was driving crashed into a house and was engulfed in flamessaid a representative for the actress.

“Her family and friends ask for your thoughts and prayers and that you respect her privacy during this difficult time,” the representative said.

Heche was previously in an intensive care unit with “serious burns” following Friday’s accident, a source close to Heche told CNN on Saturday morning.

“She is lucky to be alive,” the source said. “She has severe burns and a long recovery ahead of her. Her team and her family are still trying to process what led up to the accident.”

The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it went off the road and collided with a residence, Los Angeles police public information officer Jeff Lee told CNN on Friday.

Heche was taken to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics in critical condition. It took more than an hour for firefighters to “access, confine and fully extinguish the stubborn flames within the severely damaged structure,” the LAFD said.

No other injuries were reported.

During part of the podcast, Heche and her co-host, Heather Duffy, talk about drinking vodka and wine, and Heche talks about having a “bad day.” It is unclear when the podcast was recorded. CNN has reached out to Heche’s representatives for comment.

“Today has been a unique day,” Heche says on the podcast. “I don’t know what happened, sometimes the days just suck and I don’t know if you ever have them, but some days mom says they’re…some days they’re not good, really bad. And I don’t know why some days just end like this , and things don’t really shake me like that.”

On Saturday, a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation told CNN that authorities had yet to question Heche about the circumstances of the incident.

The significant nature of her injuries has prevented officers from interviewing her, the police source said.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the crash and a previous “hit-and-run” incident, an LAPD spokesperson told CNN on Saturday night.
