AMLO meets with business leaders from Mexico and the US to discuss investment opportunities


President Andrés Manuel López Obrador met Wednesday night with business leaders from both Mexico and the United States, with whom he discussed opportunities for investment in Mexico.

Through his Twitter account, the Mexican president shared a couple of images of the dinner offered, where he is accompanied by Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Foreign Affairs; Adán Augusto López Hernández, head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob); Rogelio Ramírez de la O, head of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP); and Tatiana Clouthier, Secretary of Economy.

They were also present Ken Salazar, United States Ambassador to Mexico, and Susan Segalpresident of Council of the Americas.

“We dined at the National Palace with American businessmen from the Council of the Americas, chaired by Susan Segal.

“The main topics were: the opportunities for foreign investment in Mexico and the economic integration of America with respect to sovereignties,” the president wrote in his message published on social networks.



At the end of the meeting, the president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), Francisco Cervantes Diazannounced that during the dinner they discussed investment issues, “that more must be invested. American companies are committed and he (President López Obrador) is fully willing to provide facilities for foreign investment.”

He also asserted that there is a good climate in the country to invest and thereby fight inflation.

Previously, Cervantes Díaz assured that the IP will seek cooperation with the authorities before the president’s proposal to guarantee the prices of 24 basic products.

“We are going to see how we can cooperate, I do not want to get ahead of myself, we are going to see how we can, also from us a proposal,” he declared before entering the venue.
