AMLO appoints Juan Pablo de Botton as the new Undersecretary of Expenditures

Juan Pablo de Botton, who a few days ago was still in charge of Nafin and Bancomext, will be the new Undersecretary of Expenditures of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), the president reported this Wednesday Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

During the government transition, he was part of López Obrador’s economic team “contributing to the macroeconomic and financial strategy of the new administration,” according to the curriculum on the Nafin and Bancomext page.

Previously, he worked as Coordinator of Advisors in the Economic Planning Unit of the Public Treasury in the Ministry of Finance. He also served as Associate Vice President of Corporate Banking in Citibanamex.

He has a degree in Economics from the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE). He has knowledge in Data Science and Big Data, as well as conducting analysis for the public, private, financial and entrepreneurship sectors.
