These days I have seen a Netflix miniseries called ‘Inventing Anna’. It tells the story of Anna Sorokin, a Russian girl who one day arrives in New York, changes her name to Anna Delvey, invents a millionaire father for herself and, out of nowhere, starts pulling strings to become a celebrity sensation in the United States. Manhattan. Her aspiration is to create a luxury foundation, which is both an exclusive hotel and an art gallery, and she is about to achieve it. Only when she is discovered the plot of frauds and lies ends up in prison. Basically, we understand that in a society of rich and well-connected men like Manhattan, if you know how to move influencers and make them public on Instagram, you can make the simulacrum of success seem very real.
