A major police operation was underway north of Montreal Wednesday morning targeting an alleged drug trafficking ring.

The early morning raids are part of an investigation that began in 2020 and involve 120 officers from the Sûreté du Québec and municipal police forces in Laval, Deux-Montagnes, St-Jérôme, Mirabel, Blainville and St-Eustache.

Search warrants are being executed in several residences in an effort to gather evidence linking individuals to the alleged ring.

No arrests are expected to be made during the operation and the investigation is continuing.
