Afghanistan: “Dialogue does not mean political recognition” (High Commissioner for Refugees)

Our special correspondent in Kabul interviewed the UN High Commissioner for Refugees on Monday on an official visit to the new masters of power in Kabul.

Filippo Grandi explained the reasons for his arrival in the Afghan capital.

In the name of the humanitarian emergency and the risks incurred by the population after the departure of the United States, the diplomat reminds the United Nations mission to come to the aid of the Afghans.

Filippo Grandi insists on the vital need to dialogue with the Taliban while specifying that this dialogue does not mean “political recognition”.

And to call on the international community to quickly finance the first fundraiser launched by the UN to the tune of 600 million dollars.
