ADAC congestion forecast up-to-date: Clogged motorways! There is a risk of traffic jams on THESE routes on Sunday

From October 8th to 10th, an increased volume of traffic is to be expected on Germany’s autobahns. It can be particularly tight on the trunk roads towards the Baltic and North Sea as well as in the greater Berlin, Brandenburg, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate areas. The risk of traffic jams in both directions is particularly high on the following motorway routes:

  • A1 Euskirchen – Cologne and Hamburg – Bremen
  • A2 Dortmund – Hanover
  • A1 / A3 / A4 Cologne Ring
  • A3 Cologne – Frankfurt – Nuremberg – Passau
  • A5 Hattenbacher Dreieck – Karlsruhe – Basel
  • A6 Mannheim – Heilbronn – Nuremberg
  • A7 Hamburg – Flensburg
  • A7 Würzburg – Füssen / Reutte
  • A8 Stuttgart – Munich – Salzburg
  • A9 Munich – Nuremberg
  • A10 Berliner Ring
  • A24 Hamburg – Berlin
  • A61 Koblenz – Mönchengladbach
  • A93 Inntal triangle – Kufstein
  • A95 / B2 Munich – Garmisch-Partenkirchen
  • A99 bypass Munich

Increased risk of congestion due to construction sites and flood damage

On some routes, construction sites also hinder the flow of traffic. For example, the A3 near Würzburg in the direction of Nuremberg between Erlangen-Tennenlohe and Nuremberg-Nord is closed from Friday, October 8th, 10 p.m. to Saturday, October 9, 8 a.m., writes the ADAC. You can find more route closures here. In addition, the flood damage in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate has not yet been repaired. On the A1 Cologne – Euskirchen and the A61 Koblenz – Mönchengladbach, work can continue until summer 2022.

For holidaymakers traveling to neighboring countries, there are a few places where the car could get stuck in a traffic jam. The Tauern, Fernpass, Brenner, Rheintal and Gotthard routes are affected.
