A woman fatally struck by a bus in Longueuil


A woman in her twenties died Wednesday morning after being hit by a Réseau de transport de Longueuil bus.

The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of boulevard Roland-Therrien and chemin du Tremblay.

The death of the young woman was noted on the spot when the first responders arrived, said the spokesperson for the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL), agent François Boucher.

An investigation has been opened and crime scene experts and SPAL reconstructionists must go on site to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Boulevard Rolland-Therrien was closed to traffic, between Jacques Cartier and Chemin du Tremblay.
