The collision between the pedestrian and the vehicle occurred around 6:15 p.m. on rue des Blés.

According to initial information, it was following an altercation that the driver of the vehicle deliberately hit the pedestrian before fleeing.

The victim, a young man of 20, suffered injuries that are not life-threatening, said agent Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec. The latter would even have been discharged from the hospital.

The police quickly located the fleeing vehicle and arrested the driver, a 51-year-old man. “He is currently being met by investigators,” added Ms. Bernard.

A reconstructionist must go to the scene to analyze the scene and try to find out more about the circumstances surrounding this accident.
