A new CEO for the SQDC

Jacques Farcy has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC).

Mr. Farcy will take control of this subsidiary of the Société des alcools (SAQ) as of October 12.

He holds an Executive MBA from HEC Montreal-McGill University and is a graduate of the Institut commercial de Nancy, France.

Over the past three decades, Mr. Farcy has worked as a manager in Canada and France. Until his appointment at the head of the SQDC, he was Vice-President, Operations of sales networks at the SAQ. Within the SAQ, Mr. Farcy held other vice-president titles in disciplines related to marketing, marketing and sales.

“As President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Farcy will lead all of the SQDC’s operations so that it can fully accomplish its mission, which is to ensure the distribution of cannabis with a view to protecting health,” in order to integrate consumers into the legal market and keep them there, without encouraging the consumption of cannabis, ”it was stated in a press release on Wednesday.

The SQDC had 68 branches across Quebec as of June 19. At the same date last year, 42 points of sale were in operation.
