A man injured in a shooting Sunday night in the Saint-Michel district – Montreal | The Canadian News

Montreal police are investigating a nightly shooting in the Saint-Michel district in northeast Montreal.

Shots were reported in the 16th Avenue and Louvain Street East area around midnight Sunday, police said.

Police found a 25-year-old man suffering from upper body injuries.

The victim, known to the police, was treated at the scene and taken to hospital. A police spokesman could not confirm his status.

At least one casing was found at the scene and the canine unit was called in to help with the investigation.

The police will check local surveillance cameras and look for witnesses in the area.
