A macho murderer affirms in the trial that he stabbed his wife in self-defense


The accused of stabbing his wife of 75 years to death in 2020 at his home in Fuenlabrada (Madrid) has denied in court having done so intentionally since, as he has assured, “acted in self-defense” in the face of “sudden” attacks by his wifewhich he did not expect because they got along “very well”.

This Wednesday the jury trial began for Benjamin SS, 75, accused of kill his wife with a kitchen knife after an argument at his home in Fuenlabrada on February 26, 2020, and for which the Prosecutor’s Office asks that he be sentenced to 14 years in prison for a crime of homicide. “The day of the events, my wife was very nervous in the kitchen, we fought in the living room, she had a knife in her hand and I defended myself“said the defendant.

Several police officers have testified that they found the accused and the victim “lying on the ground”, him with “several cuts on the arms” and her “on top of a pool of blood” on the landing of the building.

The agents have reported that the accused could barely answer the questions that were put to him given his injuries and his state of perplexity, but that he nodded when he was told if he had committed the acts. The defendant has also stated that “doesn’t remember anything” and that “suddenly he was lying on the ground”.

The police intervention took place after a neighbor of the building denounced the facts since the victim came to your door asking for help.

The police have stated that while the victim asked for help, the accused picked up the same kitchen knife again and self-inflicted serious injuries to the abdomen and others to the chest and neck. The woman died hours after being transferred to the hospital while her Benjamin SS was arrested and remains in provisional prison.

The neighbors reported then that Benjamín, of Extremaduran origin, and Manuela, of Galician origin, had arrived in Fuenlabrada more than 40 years ago and they had no children.
