The Buffalo Sabers have been rather quiet on the Jack Eichel case recently, but the situation could quickly change in the coming days.
The New York State star player fired his agents Peter Donatelli and Peter Fish at the end of August to replace them with Pat Brisson. According to the network Sportsnet, the new Eichel representatives had an “introductory meeting”.
“The two clans try to remain silent, but the message is that there is no conflict resolution in sight,” summed up journalist Elliotte Friedman.
Also according to the journalist, with the resumption of training camps, the Sabers could try to contact teams that have already shown an interest in their attacker in order to compromise.
The situation between Eichel and the Sabers crumbled last season when he felt he needed to receive surgery for a herniated disc, but the Buffalo organization and his team of medics said the replacement of a vertebra was not recommended.
The price to pay?
Since the start of the offseason, rumors have sent Eichel all over the National League, but the price would be too high, especially since acquiring the American skater means adding a salary of $ 10 million.
Last season, the center player amassed 18 points in 21 games, before injuring himself. Since the start of his career, he has accumulated 355 points in 375 duels.
