A fire left injured in Beauceville, in Chaudière-Appalaches, Monday morning.
Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) reported being called around 7:30 a.m. for a fire in the Bois Ouvré business in Beauceville, located on 134 street.
Eight people were injured and were taken to a hospital center. It was not yet possible to know the state of their injuries.
The SQ’s major crime investigation division is on site and is meeting with witnesses to establish the exact causes and circumstances of the fire.
Paul Morin, the director of communications for the city of Beaucevillle, confirmed that a reception center has been opened so that evacuees are taken care of by responders.
Firefighters, paramedics and police were dispatched to the scene, said Sergeant Hélène St-Pierre, a spokesperson for the SQ. The CNESST also works in collaboration with the teams on site.
The municipal fire and ambulance service was not reachable at the time of posting.
The City is asking residents to restrict their water consumption until the fire is brought under control.
