It is the story of a pre-adolescent who has learned to take care of his little brother and takes the separation from his parents with insulting maturity. What the jury has highlighted is its ability to enter naturally into the lights and shadows of the preadolescent world, also adding a critical view of the socioeconomic differences in Europe today.

The other most important section of the D’A is ‘A collective impulse’, a good showcase of independent Spanish cinema and even ‘underground’ in the most radical sense of the word. The jury they have formed Chema Garcia Ibarra (director of ‘Sacred Spirit’), Gloria Vilches (Coordinator of the CCCB’s Xcéntric programming) and carla (delegate producer of ‘Alcarràs’), has awarded ‘My friend’s friend’, the debut feature of Zaida Carmona. The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros. ‘My emptiness and I’, from Adrian Silvestrealso focused on identity and difference based on the story of a young man who considers changing his sex, has received a special mention from the jury.
