A cyclist fatally run over after falling into a pothole in Montérégie – Montreal | The Canadian News

A fall caused by a pothole was fatal for a 60-year-old cyclist, on Saturday shortly before 12:30 pm, in the canton of Roxton, in Montérégie.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the woman driving on Granby Road (Route 139) fell after going over a pothole, then was hit by a pickup truck that she was unable to dodge.

His death was pronounced on the spot, SQ spokeswoman Sgt Catherine Bernard confirmed.

The victim was wearing a helmet, he said.

An investigator from the scene of the collision was dispatched to the scene to analyze the scene and try to clarify the causes and circumstances of this collision.

Route 139 was closed for investigation.
