A 70-year-old man dies after being trapped under a tractor

QUEBEC CITY – A 70-year-old man died after his tractor overturned while cutting wood on his property.

The Sûreté du Québec reported that emergency services were called around 10:15 am Saturday on Route 275 in St-Benjamin, Chaudière-Appalaches.

“Family members were concerned for the victim when they found the overturned farm tractor,” said SQ spokeswoman Audrey-Anne Bilodeau. “Police, firefighters and ambulance workers worked together to get the man out with the help of tires, but sadly, the man was not alive.”

He was pronounced dead at the scene and police believe the incident occurred on Friday night.
