59-year-old man killed in Vancouver’s 18th fatal pedestrian accident of the year

Police are investigating after a 59-year-old man was struck and killed by a car in East Vancouver on Saturday.

The death of a pedestrian was the 18 of the city of 2021.

Investigators believe the man was crossing Kingsway near St. Catherines Street around 7 p.m. when he was struck by a westbound car. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene and speed and alcohol are not considered factors, Sgt. VPD said. Steve Addison in a statement.

VPD’s collision investigation unit is asking anyone who saw the accident or has dashcam video to contact them at 604-717-3012.
