The arrests were part of an investigation launched by Longueuil police last April.
On Wednesday, Longueuil officers assisted by a Montreal Police SWAT team executed a series of warrants that included amounts of cocaine and crack, cell phones, cash, knives, a firearm with an altered serial number, and several ammunition magazines, police said.
The detainees were identified as Mouhamadou Lamine Ndiaye, 32, Timothy Gagnon Fortin, Miguel Lessard Jorge and Jérôme Hébert, all 22, and Ibrahima Sory Sakho, 34.
The four suspects remain in custody pending their appearance in court, while the fifth was granted parole.
