London runners will have to wait a bit longer for the 40th annual Forest City Road race, and the organizers will announce its postponement.
Organizers announced on Facebook on Wednesday that the race would be delayed until fall due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the region.
“We are doing our best to have an event in person. Under the advice of the health unit together with the guide of the city of London, in addition to having the full support of our sponsors, the fall seems our best bet for that, “said the organizers in a publication.

The decision to postpone came on the advice of the Middlesex-London Health Unit.
Authorities say a new date for the race will be announced in March, which was supposed to take place in April.
On Thursday, the London Middlesex region reported 496 cases, a record number of COVID-19 infections in a single day.
The races are aimed at raising funds for local charities, including the Thames Valley Children’s Center.
