For Mexican Real Estate Bank (BIM), focused on the bridge loan for the development of living place, 2021 was one of his best years in his more than 10 years of experience in multiple banking, both for the registered placement to developers, and in the profit achieved.

Recently, the bank, led by Victor Manuel Requejo as president and Rodrigo Padilla as director, presented the results of 2021, where his placement of credit grew about 58% compared to 2020, to register 9,500 million pesos placed for the housing sector.

“In 2021, we achieved a growth of 58% in the amount of credit contracted and in the fourth quarter we made a historical record for a quarter in the bank. Last year was also our best year in terms of placement, we placed more than 9,500 million pesos in loans for the housing sector; thanks to the housing developers who trusted us with their projects,” Padilla explained.

In this context, the credit card it also registered a dynamism, since during 2021 this indicator grew 11%, compared to 2020, to reach a balance close to 6,900 million pesos.

“BIM is the sixth Bank in market share in bridge loans in Mexico, the balance of the portfolio grew 11% in 2021; We hope that this good trend will continue in 2022, in addition, as we had a very good origination in the last quarter of the year, it will surely continue to grow,” said the bank’s CEO.

Padilla explained that during 2021, the bank knew how to diversify its housing portfolio because today practically the six regions of the country bring a balance close to 1,000 million pesos each, when in previous years everything was concentrated in the central area of ​​​​the national territory. .

For the general director of BIM, these growths in placement were supported by the collection of resources made by the bank from the general public, which during 2020 grew 4.7% annually, to achieve 5,500 million pesos raised.

“In clients, we grew 19% to reach a total of 7,700 clients. To put it in perspective, in the area of ​​term deposits, which is where we are, banking in Mexico grew 0.3%, we 4.7%”, Padilla pointed out.

Likewise, the director of the bank highlighted the institution’s fiduciary business, which during 2021 grew 22% compared to the previous year. Assets (in trusts managed by the bank) grew at the same rate, thus exceeding 40,000 million pesos in managed assets. We are trustee number 20, among the 50 banks in the country.”

In this context, the bank, during 2021, achieved a profit of 99 million pesos, that is, much higher than that achieved in 2020, which was 14.5 million pesos, thus confirming the best year of the history of the banking institution.

“This result was in our plans for 2020, unfortunately the pandemic delayed us a year. Our plan is to sustain this path of growth in profitability, seeking to have a return on capital comparable to the industry average in a maximum of three more years. Padilla stressed.
