The incident occurred on October 5, when officers stopped an oncoming car along Du Bullion St. A driver’s license check found it was suspended, and while officers were inspecting the vehicle, the driver and the passenger fled. the scene.

The couple were soon pulled over by other officers, and a search of the vehicle found a 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition in the trunk. More ammunition and a quantity of drugs were found when the two suspects were searched.

Ricky Royea, 35, and Stéphany Houle, 25, appeared in court on October 7 to face charges related to illegal possession of a firearm. Royea faces an additional charge of violating a court order never to possess a firearm.
