Montreal’s top three mayoral candidates will hold a debate in English later this month before the November municipal elections.
CBC Montreal, CityNews Montreal, CTV News Montreal, CJAD 800, Global News Montreal and Montreal Gazette come together to host the only English-language debate of the Montreal mayoral campaign on Thursday, October 28 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The incumbent mayor and leader of Projet Montréal, Valérie Plante, the former mayor and leader of Ensemble Montréal, Denis Coderre, and the leader of the Montreal Movement, Balarama Holness, will face off in the 90-minute debate, which will cover the following six topics: housing, public safety, economy, climate crisis. , inclusion and transportation.
The discussion will be streamed live via the aforementioned media streaming and online platforms, including on montrealgazette.com.
Mutsumi Takahashi from CTV News Montreal and Debra Arbec from CBC Montreal will moderate the debate, which will be hosted by Laura Casella from Global News Montreal. CityNews Montreal reporter Alyssia Rubertucci will present questions submitted by the public, which can be emailed to [email protected] with “Discussion Question” in the subject line.
The Montreal municipal elections are November 6 and 7, with early voting on October 30 and 31.
