A 15-year-old girl has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old boy outside an apartment building on Toronto’s eastern edge in early July, police say.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 11 Antrim Crescent, west of Kennedy Road and just south of Highway 401, to receive reports of a shooting shortly after 6 p.m. on July 3.

Police said a teenager was shot when a black van passed by and opened fire while standing with friends. Caden Francis made his way to a nearby basketball court where he collapsed. He was rushed to a trauma center, where he later died of his injuries, investigators said.
On Thursday, police said a 15-year-old girl was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder.
She cannot be identified under the Juvenile Criminal Justice Act.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
