Tokyo Olympics: new world records and Japanese double in skateboarding

The Italian cyclists achieved the feat of the day this Wednesday at the Tokyo Olympics! They won gold in the team pursuit by beating the Danish favorites. The Italian quartet led by Filippo Ganna broke the world record for the discipline by finishing the 4 km in 3 minutes 42 seconds and 32/100. Australia wins bronze.

Another world record broken, once again in the 400m hurdles but this time for the women. Defending champion, American Sydney Mc Laughlin improved her own time to 51 seconds and 46 hundredths. She is ahead of her compatriot Dalilah Muhammad and the Dutchwoman Femke Bol.

The Brazilian Ana Marcela Cunha is illustrated in an original discipline of swimming in open water. She won the Tokyo Bay Marathon, covering the 10 km in one hour, 59 minutes and 30 seconds. The French Lara Grangeon De Villele took 9th place.

A Japanese double in the skateboard park final: 19-year-old Sakura Yosozumi becomes the discipline’s first Olympic champion. She won ahead of two young teenagers, her compatriot Kokona Hiraki, aged only 12, and Briton Sky Brown, 13.

In the ultimate sailing event, in a 470 dinghy, the gold went to the British Hannah Mills and Eilidh McIntyre, ahead of the Polish crew. The French Camille Lecointre and Aloïse Retornaz won the bronze
