From September 2021, periodic protection will be free for all students, announced the Minister of Higher Education, Frédérique Vidal, on Tuesday, a decision that is part of the fight against precariousness among young people.

In the coming weeks, the university residences of the Crous and the university health services will be equipped with distributors of hygienic protection, announced Frédérique Vidal during a meeting in Poitiers with students. “We are aiming for 1,500 distributors and full free entry at the start of the school year,” she added.

In mid-December, the Minister of Solidarity and Health, Olivier Véran, and the Minister for Gender Equality, Elisabeth Moreno, announced that five million euros would be allocated in 2021 to the fight against menstrual insecurity , which affects nearly one in ten women in France, especially the most vulnerable and young people.
