Gatineau: the death of the septuagenarian is no longer considered suspicious


The Gatineau Police Department announced on Sunday that no charges will be laid regarding the death of a septuagenarian who was found dead on Saturday morning.

“The investigation by the Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG), the meetings of witnesses, as well as the expertises carried out at 190, rue Pigeon in the Buckingham sector made it possible to determine that no criminal act had been committed, ”the SPVG said in a statement.

No charges will therefore be brought against the man in his sixties who was arrested at the scene.

The police had been called to go to the Buckingham area around 7:30 am Saturday morning concerning an “unconscious lady”, it was explained in a press release released during the day by the SPVG.

The police had, however, noted the death of the victim on the spot.
