The high school students in Terminale were feverish at the idea of taking their first bac exams, those of specialties, between March 15 and 17. They will be reassured. In a letter addressed to the principals that 20 Minutes obtained, the Minister of Education Jean-Michel Blanquer announced that the specialty exams of the bac were finally canceled and replaced by the continuous control. The students will be evaluated “on the basis of the averages of the three final terms of these lessons”, explains the letter.
A response to teachers’ unions and principals who demanded this measure, in view of the worsening health situation and because of the disrupted teaching conditions in high schools since November.
A decision immediately welcomed on Twitter by Philippe Vincent, secretary general of the first union of school leaders (SNPDEN): “A reasonable and pragmatic solution”.
As these grades must initially be taken into account in the Parcoursup procedure, it is ultimately “the averages of the first two terms and the teachers’ assessments” which will be examined during the procedure.
