To celebrate, The Pokémon Company is kicking off with a Rude Goldberg Machine to traverse the history of the franchise, touching pocket monsters from each of the regions, different locations such as Ecruteak City, the anime series, and more.
At the end of the video, it features an association with the famous singer, Katy Perry, along with a very quick snippet of a song playing. electrifying.
The Pokémon Company says it is partnering with Universal Music Group and a wide range of musicians, including emerging artists and the aforementioned pop icon.
Additionally, the company says it is partnering with brands like Levi’s, McDonald’s, Jazwares, Scholastic, Mattel, Funko, and Wand Company.
During Pokémon’s 20th anniversary, Mythical Pocket Monsters were handed out for games at retailers each month, and this time the company will host monthly music events and more. Players of Pokémon trading card games can look forward to more this year too.
