Suspicious fire at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse

A fire of suspicious origin broke out on Saturday evening at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse, in the Laurentians.

No injuries were reported and the damage would be minor, according to initial information given by the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Stéphane Tremblay.

The investigation, which was initially handled by the police department of the city of Saint-Jérôme, has been transferred to the Major Crime Investigations Division of the SQ.

A fire scene technician is on site to try to determine the exact causes of the event.
