Dominion sues Trump lawyer Sidney Powell for more than $ 1.3 billion

Dominion Voting Systems filed a defamation lawsuit against attorney Sidney Powell on Friday, demanding more than $ 1.3 billion in damages for the havoc it says the lawyer has caused by spreading “outlandish” and “demonstrably false” accusations. ; including that Dominion played a central role in an alleged plot to steal the 2020 election from President Trump.

For weeks, Powell has claimed that Dominion was established with communist money from Venezuela to enable ballot filling and other vote manipulation, and that those skills were leveraged to bring President-elect Joe Biden the victory.

In a 124-page complaint filed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, Dominion said its reputation and resale value have been deeply damaged by a “viral disinformation campaign” that Powell mounted “to enrich himself financially. , raise your public profile and ingratiate yourself with Donald Trump ”.
